About

NewRetroCalendar is a calendar and database of new games released for old platforms: homebrew and indie releases for consoles and computers like the NES, Game Boy, Mega Drive, Commodore 64, Amiga, ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, MSX, Atari and Dreamcast.

The scene is huge, but news is spread over hundreds of itch.io pages, publisher shops and forums. This site puts it in one searchable place, by platform and by date.

How listings are made

• Every entry links to its source: the developer’s page, itch.io, a publisher store or an announcement.
• Descriptions are written in our own words.
• Dates we can’t confirm to the day are shown as a month, a year or “TBA”.
• Ports and remakes of commercial games are generally left out; original homebrew comes first.
